Angad Bedi is right now making headlines for all the good reasons as the star plays the role of former hockey star Sandeep Singh’ brother Bikramjeet Singh in the recently released Soorma. Diljit Dosanjh is playing the role of Sandeep in the sports biopic.
After, the successful opening, actor Angad Bedi talked to the media and said, “Both Sandeep and Bikramjeet are of our age, so getting it right was a responsibility. All the sacrifices they made, their selflessness, all the care Bikram gave to Sandeep was an eye-opener for me. Bikram was a terrific hockey player, but injury hampered his career. He even invented new shots for Sandeep.”
He also got candid about his hockey training and said, “Bikramjeet used to wake us up for hockey practice during winters in Shahabad. We used to do running, stretching, dribbling everything. Then he taught me to scoop, slap shot and many other shots before starting drag-flicks.”
Diljit Dosanjh and Angad share a good bond over the screen but about their off-screen chemistry, Angad says, “I spent a lot of time with Diljit and he is like my real life brother. I think he made me a better human being. Shaad Ali trusted me with a performance-oriented role. He says, “Actually, we wanted to get married in winters, but our calendars were blocked till February. It’s not wise to leave good projects. There was less time and we also wanted to keep it private. So, even elders of the family asked us to not wait.”
He further said, “My father was of the opinion that marriage happens between two families and we should get to know each other. The intimacy suffers if the event gets bigger. The sacredness and sanctity too take a hit. My father has been a sportsman, Neha is from the industry, I am from both the fields, so it would have become very big. My father said people spend a lot of money on weddings but they shy from helping a poor kid, so if you want to do something good, do something for the needy ones. So, we went to America for charity work.”
