Under the Spotlight: Box Office Collections of De De Pyaar De, Aladdin, and PM Narendra Modi

The past two weeks at the Box Office have been a dead rubber for Bollywood movies. While Aladdin continues to set benchmarks for Hollywood films, De De Pyaar De has been the only convincing winner. PM Narendra Modi’s much-anticipated biopic, which generated a lot of buzz before its release has been struggling and competition from Arjun Kapoor’s India’s Most Wanted has only hampered Vivek Oberoi’s return.

With all three movies now in their third week since their release, we take a look at their Box Office Collections so far.

According to a report in Box Office India, Aladdin held well in its second weekend with a business of around Rs 10 crore. As compared to the first weekend, the drop is just 45 percent. The total collection for the live-action flick has crossed Rs 40 crore. However, the collections may dip further after Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat releases on Wednesday, June 5.

Aladdin starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott has also done extremely well at the worldwide box office. So far, the Walt Disney flick has earned USD 445.9 million worldwide.

Meanwhile, Vivek Oberoi starrer PM Narendra Modi biopic had a low second weekend although collections did not crash like Arjun Kapoor’s India’s Most Wanted. The biopic’s total collections have now reached around Rs 20 crore after two weeks. Whereas, IMW has tanked massively at the box office.

As for Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet’s De De Pyaar De, the movie has collected around Rs 1.25 crore on it’s third Monday. Despite stiff competition from Bharat, In fact, even if the collection falls, the film will earn a net total of Rs 11 crores at the end of its third week. By the end of this week, the movie should reach a total of approximately Rs 90 crores.

The fans have been appreciating the film’s comic timing. Especially, Rakul Preet is ruling hearts after giving a spectacular performance in the movie. Netizens can’t stop praising the hilarious film.
