While film is one of the highly anticipated ones to be released this year, it also features a cameo by none other than Bollywood Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan, adding to the excitement.

Madhavan is currently seen promoting his movie and in a recent event, he spoke about how Khan wanted to be a part of the film since the inception. The 3 Idiots star remembered telling about the film to Shah Rukh Khan while they were working together in Zero. Madhavan revealed, “He (Khan) vividly remembered it during one of his birthday parties. He asked me about the film’s status and expressed his desire to be a part of the film. ‘Mujhe background mein koi bhi role chalega. Main is film ka hissa hona chahta hu (I am okay with any role in the background. I just want to be a part of the film).”

At first, Madhavan though that Shah Rukh was just pulling his leg. However, on his wife Sarita’s suggestion, he messaged Khan’s manager, asking her to thank him for his kind words. He then said that he immediately got a text from the manager saying that Khan is asking about the dates for the shoot.

Shah Rukh Khan will play a journalist in the movie. As per Madhavan, he did not charge a single penny for his cameo in Rocketry. R Madhavan will play the role of the aerospace engineer from ISRO, Nambi Narayanan. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is scheduled for release on July 1.
