On Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 143rd birth anniversary on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Statue of Liberty in Gujarat’s Narmada district. The statue measures 182 meters in height. This height was picked to match that total of Assembly constituencies in the state Gujarat. This statue also beats China’s Spring Temple Buddha which was amongst the world’s tallest statue and it is twice the size of the Statue of Liberty in the US.

Spring Temple Buddha

Location – Lushan County, Henan, China

Height – 420 feet (128 meters)

The statue was worked between of 1997 and 2008. With its 82-foot-tall platform, the landmark ascends to an aggregate stature of 502 feet or 153 meters. The task cost $55 million, of which almost $18 million was spent on building the statue. Underneath the statue is a Buddhist monastery.

Laykyun Sekkya

Location – Khatakan Taung, near Monywa, Myanmar

Height – 360 feet (116 meters)

The statue of Buddha remains at 44 feet or 13.5 meters position of royalty. Development started in 1996 and it was finished on February 21, 2008. The statue has 31 floors, alluding to the 31 domains of the existing cycle according to Buddhist literature.

Ushiku Daibutsu

Location – Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan

Height – 393 feet (110 metres)

This statue was completed in the year 1993 and also held the record of being the tallest statue from 1993 to 2002. The statue made of bronze stands in Ushiko, Japan.

Location – Wiset Chai Chan, Ang Thong, Thailand

Also known as the Big Buddha of Thailand, the statue is painted gold and made of concrete. Located in the Wat Muang Monastery in Ang Thong Province, the construction of the statue took about 18 years.
