Actress Swara Bhasker is known for placing forth her views on sensitive topics, either through her movies or her Instagram posts. While she is lauded for the same, she is also heavily criticised and trolled for it sometimes.
However recently, things escalated as the Veere Di Wedding actress received a death threat letter. A note written in Hindi was sent to her Mumbai residence in Versova. Using foul language, the disturbing letter said that “the youth of the nation” will not tolerate Swara’s allegedly distasteful comment about Indian politician Veer Savarkar. While sharing the letter on her Instagram handle, the actress decided to write a caption in Hindi, which read, “देश के नौजवान तो ख़ैर सड़कों पर नौकरी की माँग कर रहे हैं.. पर एक प्रजाति महंगाई, बेरोज़गारी, भुखमरी सब सहेगी.. बस ऐतिहासिक सच और तथ्य नहीं सहेगी! इतना रोश – पर नम्बर रेवारी में बैठे किसी चाचा का डाला है भाई ने!”
A rough translation of this is, “The youth of the country are demanding jobs on the streets. But one species will suffer inflation, unemployment, starvation.. Just historical truth and facts will not survive! So much anger – but the brother has put the number of an uncle sitting in Rewari!” According to sources, the actress filed a complaint at the Versova police station two days ago. An official said, “Based on the complaint, we have registered a non-cognizable offense against unidentified persons.”
On the work front, Swara will be seen in the movies Sheer Qorma and Jahaan Chaar Yaar.
