Popular family entertainer series, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah recently decided to welcome a new Nattu Kaka. Ghanshyam Nayak, who previously essayed the part for several years, passed away last year as he succumbed to cancer. While the makers had earlier stated that they do not want to replace him, they have now decided to cast actor Kiran Bhatt as the new Nattu Kaka.
In a video shared on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s official YouTube page, producer and creator Asit Kumar Modi says that while it is impossible to fill the void left by the loss of Ghanshyam Nayak, ‘the show must go on’. He also adds that he is sure that the audience will give Kiran the same amount love as they gave the late actor.
“Every artists only seeks love, and all of you have always showered us with a lot. We were just a small entertainer and it’s only because of your love, we have achieved so much. It’s my only request now that you give a lot of love to the new Nattu Kaka. Do forgive us if we make some mistakes. I am confident he will stand up to all your expectations. Actors may keep changing, some may go away, some just quit, but the character will remain. The show must go on,” Asit Modi says in Hindi.
Recently, even Shailesh Lodha, who essays the role of Taarak Mehta, left the show to start a show of his own. Not only that, even Disha Vakani, who welcomed her second child, will not be coming back.
