Rajinikanth’s popularity is massive than one can imagine. But he also gets criticized if not for his acting but for getting the casting in the opposite of young actresses. The same happened during S Shankar’s Robot (Enthiran) where Aishwarya Rai was his heroine with 23 years of the age difference. For that, he had to face many criticisms.

Talking to a media Rajinikanth revealed his experience to meet a man in Banglore who was not ready to accept Rajinikanth and Aishwarya as a couple in the film, Rajinikanth says, “I’m not exaggerating. In Bangalore, my brother’s house is there, I went there. Nearby, one Rajasthani tenants, they have come there. After knowing I was there, he came to see me. His name was Nandulal. He is some 60 plus. He came and say ‘Hey Rajini, what happened to your hair?’ I said, ‘Jhadd gaye yaar, chorro (it shed, let’s forget about it)'”

Taking the conversation at length the man asked about how he is spending retirement but when Rajinikanth shares about his project of Robot costarring with Aishwarya, “He said, ‘Aishwarya Rai heroine? Arre kamaal ka ladki hai, fantastic. Who is the hero?'” hearing this the audience burst with laughter so Amitabh Bachchan, the father in law of Aishwarya.

The man got a shock and embarrassment at the same time when Rajinikanth explains, “I said I am the hero. He asked, ‘Are you?’ His kids were also with him and told him, ‘Daddy he is the hero’. Then 10 minutes he was there and didn’t speak a word. He was staring me only. Then okay bye bye bye. Then I hear a voice from outside. ‘What has happened to Aishwarya Rai?’, ‘What has happened to Abhishek Bachchan. Leave it.’ ‘What has happened to Amitabh Bachchan?'”

Sharing the audience interactions, he bids thank Aishwarya and ended laughing too.

Enthiran was a blockbuster and later on, a sequel was made with Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.
