Diwali 2018 saw one of the biggest movies releases of the year and it is none other than Thugs of Hindostan. The film has a stellar star cast of superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Sana Fatima Shaikh. TOH had already created a lot of buzz way before it’s inception and fans were really excited about it. Before it’s trailer release, the makers treated the viewers with a series of motion posters and character posters making all of us curious.

And now after three days of its release, in spite of getting mixed reviews from the viewers and critics, Thugs of Hindostan has entered the 100 crore club.

The film had a bumper opening on its day one with a massive 52 crores of collection across the nation making it the biggest opener so far in the year 2018.

Well, after a great start on its first day, the film saw a massive dip in its collection on its second day by minting just 29.25 crores which is just half of its first-day collection. According to early estimates, Thugs Of Hindostan made around Rs 35 crore on Saturday.

The big-budget action-drama movie was released across 7000 screens worldwide, and its ticket prices also witnessed a hike of at least ten percent. Reportedly, the prices in multiplexes ranged from Rs 400 to Rs 1,500, while the average price in single screens went up to Rs 200.

The Yash Raj Films’ venture had opened on Thursday to poor reviews. Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta, in her review, wrote, “The only one having a blast is Aamir Khan’s Awadhi thug in his carroty curls and soorma-ringed eyes. He vamps it up madly, grinning widely: the act’s not new but some of it is infectious, and bearable. Just about. The rest of it is a non-stop combo of eye-roll-and-eye-glaze.”

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the box-office numbers and wrote, “ThugsOfHindostan has to show a positive upturn on Day 3 [today], else its sustainability from Day 5 [Mon] onwards will be extremely doubtful… One thing is crystal clear TOH has NOT met the monumental expectations… The BO numbers are doing the talking now.”

The film released on 8th November, let’s see how it performs in the upcoming days.
