Tokyo Olympics: Indian men’s hockey team receives praises from Bollywood, Prime Minister congratulates the players

The Indian Men’s Hockey Team has recreated history on Thursday by defeating Germany and has won the bronze medal at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This marks the first Olympic medal in hockey for India after 41 years since they won it at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow and this victory has left the people across India emotional.

Celebrities from the Bollywood industry and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has taken to their Twitter handles to praise the Indian Men’s hockey team.

Shah Rukh Khan, who was all excited by their resilience and skills, tweeted, “Wow!! Indian Men’s Hockey Team Congratulations. Resilience and skill at its peak. What an exciting match”.

Akshay Kumar congratulated the team for making a comeback on the Indian men’s hockey team and wrote “Congratulations Team India on rewriting history! An Olympic medal after 41 years! What a match, what a comeback!”.

Nimrat Kaur tweeted “Huge congratulations to the men’s hockey team!!! Absolutely incredible” while Ananya Panday reposted a photo of the team on her Instagram handle.

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, took to the Twitter handle and wrote “Historic! A day that will be etched in the memory of every Indian. Congratulations to our Men’s Hockey Team for bringing home the Bronze. With this feat, they have captured the imagination of the entire nation, especially our youth. India is proud of our Hockey team”.
