The nation is now facing the second outbreak of Coronavirus, and Bollywood celebrities have stepped forward to assist patients and frontline staff in need. The healthcare system has been overburdened as a result of the country’s dire condition, with thousands of people needing proper medical care. Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar recently made headlines after coordinating the distribution of 100 oxygen concentrators in the midst of the current crisis. Since participating in charitable work, the celebrities gained praise from their followers on social media.
However, on Twitter, a former IAS officer chastised the pair for accepting contributions, claiming they weren’t doing enough. Twinkle responded by clarifying how she has been enthusiastically contributing. She tweeted, “Have donated 100 concentrators toward this cause & in multiple other ways,” she wrote and elaborated how serving people in need is a collective cause. “Sad, that at this point, instead of pitching in, we expend energy in pulling people down. Stay safe,” she said.

Akshay recently donated Rs. 1 crore to the Gautam Gambhir Foundation as COVID-19 relief. The actor recently recovered from COVID-19 and has been living indoors since then. Twinkle, on the other hand, has previously tweeted about making the aforementioned donation to a charity. Several other stars, including Bhumi Pednekar, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt, are using their social media accounts to promote services needed by people across the country.
