BCCI has announced Team India’s squad for the upcoming West Indies series which is said to begin from August 3.
While many youngsters are given a chance to show their talent, many players are either rested or dropped from the squad. However, two main players of the team have been kept constant – Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Soon after India’s exit from World Cup, reports had emerged claiming a rift in the team between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Dainik Jagran, quoting a Team India player, has reported that the there are two factions within the squad – one close to captain Virat Kohli and another following vice-captain Rohit Sharma.
Between all this, netizens have started voicing their opinion of making Rohit the captain citing the example of Sachin Tendulkar who was a legendary batsman but could not handle captaincy.
After India’s semifinal exit at the World Cup, various fans have voiced their opinion, calling Rohit to be made the ODI captain. Some users even called Rohit as a better captain than Virat. This is how Twitter users reacted when BCCI named India’s squad for the Indies tour.
BCCI should remove Kohli from captaincy.. Rohit is the best for India..

BCCI please think who will be a good captain for India , Sachin is a good batsman and not a successful good captain, think about leadership ,it is ur responsibility , please provide a good captain for our team

Hahaha… He's gonna make us lose the next T20 WC as well. Trust me on that. @ImRo45 is the best limited overs captain we have.
Bilteral series matter shit. @imVkohli can't win you tournaments.

While the BCCI haven’t yet responded to any claims of a rift between Rohit and Virat, one notable absentee from the Indies tour squad is MS Dhoni. The former Indian captain’s future has been up in the air since India were still in the World Cup. In the aftermath of India’s elimination, Dhoni’s retirement was the question that troubled everyone.
However, MS himself has ruled himself out of the upcoming tour, thus opening up the opportunity for Rishabh Pant to establish himself as the number one choice for wicketkeeping. Moreover, Dhoni is yet to comment on his retirement situation.
