No win for Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vir Das at International Emmy but comedian did enjoyed his salad

Actors Sushmita Sen, Vir Das, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui could not register a win at 2021 International Emmy Awards but the comedian felt like it was an honour to represent the country at such stage.

Siddiqui lost his best performance by an actor award to British star David Tennant. He was nominated for the film “Serious Men.” Das was nominated for his comedy special “Vir Das: For India”, which he lost out to “Call My Agent” season 4 from France.

Talking about the French drama, Das said that he loved the French drama. Taking to Instagram, the comedian who is currently facing setback for his controversial monologue, ‘Two Indias’, wrote, “I was nominated for best comedy at the International Emmy Awards, for jokes. Call My Agent, a gigantic beautiful show I love won.” He added that he did received a medal and enjoyed a “fantastic salad” and takes it as honour in representing his country.

Sen’s series ‘Aarya’ was nominated in best drama series alongside Israel’s ‘Tehran’. The latter topped the category and ended India’s run at the awards.

Das received praises as well as police complaints for his monologue in Washington recently.

Last year, Indian series ‘Delhi Crime’, directed by Richie Mehta which starred Shefali Shah, won best drama series award at the International Emmys.
