Bollywood singer Honey Singh has seen it all, from massive success to downfall which forced him to become anonymous for more than 2 years. Once the king of rap in Bollywood, various stumbling blocks pulled Honey Singh down, but he’s back fighting them all, like a warrior, and now he recently dedicated all he has to his parents and family.
Many people wrote him off, said his career was over. the rockstar life had a toll on him and that he would never get a second chance. But life did give him a second chance and he took it with both hands. Speaking about the various problems both personal and professional that he faced in the past couple of years, the singer said that he owed everything he had to his wife and his parents.
Honey Singh phased out for a long long time and speaking about the same in an interview with TOI, he said, “The last 18 months were the darkest phase of my life, and I wasn’t in a state to talk to anyone. I know there were rumors that I was in rehab, but I was in my Noida house throughout. The truth is I was suffering from bipolar disorder.
“It went on for 18 months, during which I changed four doctors, the medication wasn’t working on me and crazy things were happening. I must confess that I was bipolar and an alcoholic, which aggravated the condition,” said the 36-year-old.
Gradually he made his way back from the darkness and released his album Makhna which broke many records. Having seen a rollercoaster of emotions, troubles, setbacks, and then having made his comeback with a bang, has certainly had an impact on the man. Honey thus credits and values his family for supporting him through the hard times.
He said, “My whole life and career is dedicated to my family. During my break around 2014, I wasn’t able to compose music. There was a lot of support from my family at that time.”
He continued by saying, “I made a lot of songs during this period [that released and became hits in 2017-18]. My father is a great listener. He predicts very well whether a song will be a hit or not.” Now, well and truly back to his best, we wish Honey Singh much more success so that he may rise to further greater heights.
